This is My Crafternoons X Western District Sunnies!
For the very first time, we’re collaborating with Madi, Jacko and the gang from Hamilton’s gorgeous little sunflower growers… @westerndistrictsunnies.
This year they have planted twice the number of sunflowers, so there will be a sea of sunshine-yellow heads for inspiration, that doubles as an instagrammable backdrop for your “look what I made” snaps.
Meander the rows, snip your favourite blooms and bring them back to your crafty station to use as a still life study or set yourself up ‘en plein air’ and sketch the whole field!
You’ll be provided with a little canvas on which to unleash your inner Picasso, or you can use thick paper and paint/sketch your artwork ready to frame at home.
We will have a selection of paints, pens, pencils and pastels for you to use, or you can bring your own art materials. Hell, go all out and pack an easel if you want to get amongst the sunflowers themselves!
You’ll be guided by My Crafternoons workshop host, Stacey alongside artist & photographer, Madi Whyte, so even the ‘non-creative’ are welcome to come along!
We wholly encourage you to dress in golden tones to match our surrounds – think yellow, mustard and amber, or go all-out in 70’s florals. It's going to be groovy, baby! ✌️
This relaxed night of creativity is happening Friday 24 February from 6-8pm at 118 Leura Lane, Hamilton, VIC.
Tickets are $65 per person including all materials, art-making guidance, 5 sunflowers to take home, chilled homemade lemonade or water and a few nibbles to share.
