Leather Earrings Workshop
Join us for a relaxed evening of crafty socialising as we make beautiful earrings from leather and metallic jewellery findings, on Thurs 23 August at The Roxburgh, Hamilton!
During the workshop you'll make two pairs of hook earrings- one for you and one for a friend if you're feeling generous!
I'll demonstrate how to make feathers from the leather with a few simple snips and affix them to your earrings using simple jewellery-making techniques. You will also have the opportunity to add metallic touches and colour to the leather through the use of paint and ink, or you can leave them more natural in grey and black.
If your creativity is flowing and you want to make a non-feather earring shape then you're very welcome to- I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with!
The bar will be open for all your refreshment needs, the fire will be on so we're super cosy and there will be tunes to help shake off those working week worries!
The leather we will use is both real and faux, and we're using factory offcuts and pieces salvaged from old clothing and op-shops, because we love to up-cycle and think a little sustainably when it comes to waste and products sourced from our natural environment :)
The workshop costs $40 per person including all tools, materials, tuition and pizzas to share. We'll kick off around 7pm and start to wrap up around 9pm, and you don't need to bring a thing, just $ for any drinks!
Places are limited so we have a nice intimate group, just book via email and await your confirmation!
If you need to give up your place you can do so up to 48 hours beforehand no dramas and receive a full refund, after that we can't refund you but you're welcome to send someone along in your place instead, just let us know!
