Crafting + Food + Drinking + Friends = AWESOME!
This month’s Crafternoon (well, cr-evening) was absolutely fabulous- think delicious food, crisp ciders, great company, friendly banter and a whole heap of awesome handmade necklaces!
The chefs at Blue Malt provided delicious treats including antipasti platters, chicken skewers, mini salmon and caper quiches, spring rolls and delicious bruschettas, which we rounded off with a triple chocolate cookie platter and of course a few beverages for good measure!
Everyone created their own unique rope necklace with handmade tassels, bead and jump ring accents, there were even a few creative touches I hadn’t thought of, like making the tassel into a doll, and using different sized jump rings to create a cool chain effect:
There were some really great colour combinations created, from easy-to-wear neutrals to geometric monochrome, to fresh pastels with metallic thread accents or pops of neon- and all will hopefully be worn with pride!
With printed tutorials to take home (see this blog post HERE) and a few new skills learnt during the evening, hopefully everyone feels that they could recreate the craft at home with only a few inexpensive supplies, and make a whole heap more, maybe for Christmas gifts perhaps!
Speaking of Christmas, next Month’s Crafternoon will be fabulousy festive, so keep an eye out for more info on that soon!
Happy Crafting!
