Spring Crafternoon: Fresh Flower Crowns!

Spring has finally sprung in Western Victoria, and we're celebrating the change in the seasons by learning to make beautiful floral headbands, also known as flower crowns.

We'll settle into Off The Rails Dunkeld, the creative converted train station with views of Mount Sturgeon, from 7pm on Wednesday 28th September, and will be enjoying an evening of relaxed crafting with like-minded folk, surrounded by beautiful flowers and foliage.

Flower crowns are perfect for weddings, races, hens parties, festivals and summer garden parties- and even once they're past their best you can dry them to add rustic charm to your home. Once you know how to make the basic structure you can use your skills again too- for yourself or friends, mini crowns for lucky little girls, or even dog collars for a loved pooch on a special day! Obedient dogs do make good ring bearers you know!

There will be an array of different flowers and foliage to craft into either a complete circle, an asymmetric circle or tied at the back with pretty ribbon or lace.

All tools, materials and tuition will be covered, plus tips on selecting and preparing fresh and silk flowers, wiring and wrapping, adding decorative elements and keeping your crown fresh enough to last for a few days.

A selection of teas and coffee will also be included, plus a few little sweet treats- let us know if you have any food or lactose intolerances please!
