JOY - DIY Christmas Baubles

December 18, 2018

This year's My Crafternoons Christmas Party was an absolute corker!

17 lovely women, a friendly dog and gorgeous baby took over Pierrepoint Winery and Cellar Door just outside of Hamilton for an afternoon surrounded by all things craft, Christmas and sparkles!

Everyone made 6 embellished, filled and painted baubles for gifts or for their own tree, and the breadth of the creativity was just awesome.

Some were monochrome with illustrated details, some spray painted or filled with glitter and sparkles, one was painted to look like a reindeer, others were filled with rosemary and faux-snow, embellished with flowers, lace and ribbons, rustic with feathers and twine... the breadth of creations was mind-blowing!

I was on hand in case people needed guidance (the tassel tutorial may come in handy for workshops next year) but everyone had creative freedom to use the plethora of craft supplies I'd collard any way they wanted to. We had stamps to create shapes or print messages, wool make pom-pom attachments, special adhesives and embellishments... I think everyone was a little overwhelmed at first!

Once that first bauble was pimped, they were off and running with creative ideas and innovative uses of the supplies - it was so great to see!

Jennifer from Pierrepoint brought out a table stocked with divine cheeses, quince paste and carbs (it's not Christmas without Carbs) and everyone enjoyed a glass of their favourite tipple - the Sparkling Pinot Noir grown on site was my pick!

We also gave away the final Urban Crafter kit from the Triple Giveaway we ran on the Facebook Page to the person who has tagged @mycrafternoons on social media first, and I had a literal sack of crafty goodies as lucky dip prizes for people whose baubles were outstanding!

We even had a full page of pics in the local paper, the Hamilton Spectator!

In previous years our Christmas Crafternoons have included making wreaths from grapevines and going on a local wine tour, creating succulent wreaths and centrepieces, mixing body scrubs, making decorations and "snowmen on sticks", and also sparkly stars at a festive house party!

We're looking forward to a HUGE year for My Crafternoons in 2019 - we already have a few workshops locked in which will be revealed on the Facebook page early next year! We also intend to share more creative inspiration, unique makers and DIY craft ideas over on the Instagram page @mycrafternoons. You can be first to hear of workshops by joining the mailing list too!

Wishing you all the most MAGICAL of Christmases and the HAPPIEST of New Years- see you on the flip side!

Pece, love and Christmas wishes, Stacey xXx
