January 20, 2017

The first Crafternoon of 2017 is set for Tuesday 31st January- we'll be learning some basic jewelery-making skills to create bespoke necklaces over some delicious food and wine!

We'll be selecting complimentary colours of thread, learning how to create mini tassels and attach them to gold chain necklaces to make your own creation. Super cute and easy peasy- suitable for those of you who don't even think you're crafty... yet! You'll all be experts at using jump rings and jewelery pliers in no time :)

There will be a choice of three styles of gold-coloured chain, plus a plethora of threads, embroidery floss and cottons with which to create your tassels. You can choose to make one statement tassel, a cute trio or a few spaced along the chain like bunting... whatever you like!

Our creativity will take place between 6pm and 8.30pm in the beautiful Grange Restaurant at the Comfort Inn Grangeburn: 142 Ballarat Road, Hamilton. We'll be enjoying a selection of tasty chef-prepared nibbles and the b...

This month’s Crafternoon (well, cr-evening) was absolutely fabulous- think delicious food, crisp ciders, great company, friendly banter and a whole heap of awesome handmade necklaces!

The chefs at Blue Malt provided delicious treats including antipasti platters, chicken skewers, mini salmon and caper quiches, spring rolls and delicious bruschettas, which we rounded off with a triple chocolate cookie platter and of course a few beverages for good measure!

Everyone created their own unique rope necklace with handmade tassels, bead and jump ring accents, there were even a few creative touches I hadn’t thought of, like making the tassel into a doll, and using different sized jump rings to create a cool chain effect:

There were some really great colour combinations created, from easy-to-wear neutrals to geometric monochrome, to fresh pastels with metallic thread accents or pops of neon- and all will hopefully be worn with pride!

With printed tutorials to take home (see this blog post HERE) and...

This month's Crafternoon workshop will be more of a Cr-evening... OK so that's not a thing, but crafting over drinks and nibbles on a Thursday night totally is!

Next Thursday 23rd October, we wil be making beautiful tassel rope necklaces over in Blue Malt on Grey street in Hamilton, from 6.30pm until around 8.30pm.

We will wrap our plain rope with colourful threads, add handmade tassles, and maybe ever add some beads or metal elements so your creation is entirely unique!

All materials and tools will be provided, simply bring $25 to cover costs and arrive by 6.30pm for some creativity and chitchat with likeminded lovelies! We will have platters of bites from the chefs at Blue Malt to share and if you fancy adding a beverage they have a well-stocked bar ;)

Let me know if you're coming as booking is essential!
